I would have thought adding a Wi-Fi 7 adapter might work transparently, but it appears the kernel doesn’t have the appropriate drivers. Bill Bushong explains how to get this going with your WLAN Pi R4.
If you don’t have a WLAN Pi R4 you could build your own and just grab the WLAN Pi image. I have just about every version of Raspberry Pi, but until only recently acquired an R4 thanks to the WLAN Pro conference. (along with 2x 6e adapters). I had always wanted an upgrade, but had been rocking the “original” Neo2 WLAN Pi which was really handy for basic application/testing/file hosting.
The nice thing about the pre-built packages or kits is that you get the buttons, screen, and purpose built case all ready to go. Just like the first WLAN Pi, a lot of function is at the ready without having to SSH to the unit, if you pick the appropriate option with the button navigation.
